Sharing the Christmas Spirit Hamper Program

For 2023, our team donated $775 to the Sharing the Christmas Spirit Hamper Program. This program has been operating in the valley since 1988 and has a major impact on families in need this time of year. They provide a meal delivered to homes and even a few extra goodies for the kiddos! We look forward to supporting them and their cause in the years ahead. Want to see how you can get involved? Earl Naswell Christmas Dinner

Each year, we donate to the Earl Naswell Christmas dinner a tradition that was born in 1982 and has carried on since! The Community Christmas Dinner offers a full Turkey dinner with all the fixing to anyone who is in need and wants one. For 2023, 800 meals were prepared, packaged and delivered on Christmas Day.

Rising Legends 2023

Since 2021, Mazda in Canada has honoured the Local Legends who make exceptional impacts within their communities. In 2023, this focus shifts to the extraordinary youth in our communities who go above and beyond. Mazda Canada pledged up to 1 million dollars to assist them in their quests! 

The Courtenay Mazda Clubhouse recognizes Sam Barnie as a Rising Legend for 2023. Sam has been awarded $5,000 for his time spent volunteering with various youth basketball programs in the Comox Valley. From youth camps to 1-on-1 training, to Special Olympics teams, Sam has a passion for coaching basketball that is undeniable. Please join us in celebrating Sam as our Rising Legend.

Hearts for Hospice - Put up your Feet, Show us your Soles (Souls)"

Comox Valley Hospice Society Annual New Years Event Sponsorship. The work of hospice is indeed "soul-work", and it takes a community to offer such compassionate care to ease the journey of dying and to support loved ones before, during, and after. This is one of the Hospice Societies major fundraisers which allows them to continue to offer exceptional end of life care and supports for the grieving heart, free of charge to residents of the Comox Valley. In 2022, close to 900 people from the Valley received services from our staff and over 50 dedicated volunteers. 

Yana - Smile Cookies

From November 13-19, the four Tim Hortons stores in the Comox Valley have chosen YANA as their charity partner for the inaugural National Holiday SMILE Cookie campaign. Kelly Barnie, YANA Executive Director, expresses her gratitude, stating, "All the funds raised from the cookies will be used to assist our families travelling outside the Comox Valley to access medical care for their children. We're incredibly thankful to Tim Hortons for embracing our cause with this new campaign. We are Proud to be a part of this Delicious Event!

For more than 30 years, the Transition Society has provided support to Women and Children offering many services within our local community.
