Barry Davis, aka Big Bear came to Courtenay Mazda earlier this year in search of a vehicle for his lovely wife. Previously Barry had been in the car sales industry for about four and half years. He asked if there was a sales position open at the time and voila, he has been here ever since. Throughout his sales career, he has valued sincerity, honesty and upheld high standards for himself; He takes pride in helping clients find what they need and what suits them. Barry likes chatting it up with people, and is considered to have the gift of gab and constantly makes people laugh. Barrys passion and excitement for the industry is fueled by his clients, seeing a smile from ear to ear on a client and knowing he is the one who is responsible for fulfilling their needs and wants to the letter. He is forever pushing to meet his personal goals and enjoys pushing the limits of professional development with the team here at Courtenay Mazda.
On a more personal level, Barry really enjoys entertaining, loves to cook, especially BBQ oysters, smoked or candied salmon and considers his recipes second to none. When not working hard around the dealership for his clients, he can be found gardening in his back yard with his wife, playing bocce ball, or out fishing with some buddies. Unlike the others, Barry was not born and raised here in the Valley, in fact he is from a small town in eastern Quebec called Sutton, roughly 60 miles SE of Montreal. Barry moved to British Columbia 18 years ago, he has since then lived on Salt Spring Island, downtown Vancouver and moved to the city of Courtenay 8 years ago. Since then Barry has been involved with a wonderful non-profit organization called SSK, Street Smart Kidz Canada, its mission is to increase the safety of children in Canada and to reduce crime against them.
When asked if there was anything else he wanted to tell people about his self, Barry stated If you are looking for a square deal on the up and up come and see me anytime at the dealership to check out an automobile without pressure. Im easy going and I care.
