Mazda 6 vs. Chevy Malibu - near Campbell River and Nanaimo

Mazda 6 vs. Chevy Malibu

The competition in the midsize sedan segment of the auto industry is highly competitive and full of many quality vehicles that have a lot to offer.  Mazda and Chevy are two automotive companies that have battling it out for the top spot in this popular segment for many years.  This year’s Mazda 6 and Chevy Malibu have put an emphasis on performance, fuel economy, features and comfort but which one has more to offer you.  This side-by-side comparison between the Mazda 6 vs. Chevy Malibu will show you which new midsize sedan gives you the most for your money.

Both the Mazda 6 and Chevy Malibu have a lot to offer drivers in many different areas which is why they are two of the top models in their respective segment.  From their spacious and comfortable interior cabins, to their long list of standard and available features, drivers can get all of the things they want in their new car when choosing one of these models.

When choosing a new midsize sedan, price is always a major factor in deciding which new car you will drive off of the lot with.  Even though both the  Mazda 6 and  Chevy Malibu have similar offerings, the starting price of the new Mazda 6 is much less than the new Chevy Malibu.  Drivers can save more than $1,200 when choosing the base model Mazda 6 over the Chevy Malibu’s base model.   With such a big difference in price and their similar offerings, the Mazda 6 is a much better deal for drivers trying to save a little money while still getting an impressive automobile.

The area where drivers will notice the biggest difference between the Mazda 6 and Chevy Malibu is in their driving dynamics and fuel economy ratings.  The Mazda 6 gives drivers a standard 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine that puts out 184 horsepower while delivering up to 37 mpg on the highway.  That number increases to 40 mpg highway when choosing the Mazda i-ELOOP regenerative braking system.  The Chevy Malibu’s standard engine puts out 12 more horsepower than the new Mazda 6 but its fuel economy ratings are less than the Mazda 6.
