Kyle Schouten has been here at Courtenay Mazda since 2015, and was driven to our dealership to surround himself with the knowledge and passion for the automotive industry that we all share. Kyle has been in the industry for about 14 years, many of which he spent at Toyota; though he was not always the smiley guy in a dress shirt behind the counter. While yes he was still smiling, because he’s just that kind of guy; Kyle started his career in detail, moving into sales from there and then transitioning back to the parts and service department. Kyle is well known for his polishing skills and paint work from his days spent in the wash bay. Since then he has climbed the corporate ladder to his current position as our Service Manager.

Kyle now strives to exceed our clients servicing needs by finding a maintenance schedule that’s right for them. He says that it’s the gratification of knowing that he has helped to alleviate some of the day to day stresses that car ownership can sometimes bring and creating a wow factor with his outstanding problem solving is what continues to drive him in his career.

On a more personal level, Kyle is a man of many hobbies. He enjoys fishing, hunting, gathering, forging, cooking, sports and the lovely outdoors that surround us here on Vancouver Island. Stated simply, he’s a country boy at heart. Born in Kelowna, Kyle found himself moving around a little bit, he has lived in Nanaimo where he played football (another one of his hobbies) and now resides in Black Creek with his wife and baby boy.

Kyle is an avid supporter of Jeneece Place, which is a non-profit housing facility in Victoria that helps families in need with travel and accommodation when having to be away from home due to medical care for their children and is operated by the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. He encourages anyone who has read this to check it out and give what you can to a life saving program, even if it is just a penny.
